Arduino Mechanical Music Box

I made this as a present for my friend’s birthday. The box is inspired by the clock tower in The Legend Of Zelda video games. With a press of the pushbutton the box will open and start the clockwork mechanism turning. Similar in concept to an old-timey player piano, a musical strip is inserted into the slot on the front where a motorized musical movement pulls the strip through and plays the song. The individual wood components in this build were designed in AutoCAD and then fabricated by a precision laser CNC machine. The box uses a 2A Arduino Mega microcontroller, (2) Stepper motors, and a joint servo motor.
